Vertebro Basilar Artery Insufficiency

Head | Neurology | Vertebro Basilar Artery Insufficiency (Disease)

Description

A person with vertebrobasilar insufficiency has recurrent transient ischemic attacks (TIA), or mini-strokes, which cause the structures in the back of the brain to malfunction for less than 24 hours. The vertebrobasilar circulation supplies blood to structures in the back of the brain, including the medulla, pons, cerebellum, midbrain, thalamus, and occipital cortex.

The most important symptoms that occur in this disease: feelings of embarrassment, and then weight and occipital pain; headache, dizziness, vertigo (the dizziness may be rotator, or unregulated, short-term); cerebral hypoxia (not enough well oxygenated brain) and appear; fatigue, the marked drowsiness;sensory disturbances (paresthesia - numbness in hands and feet); paresis, hemiparesis;motility disorders (ie, difficulty walking and hand movements); sudden muscle weakness legs; hypertension (HTA) and labile hypertension is especially very difficult to master;heart rhythm disturbances;discomfort, weight, and eye pain;gradual decline (blurred), or sudden vision;hearing loss, ringing, ringing, whizzing in the ears;decreased memory (more than the person in question finds that look); increased risk of stroke ischemic.

Causes and Risk factors

The vertebrobasilar system is also called the back (posterior) circulation of the brain. This part of the brain contains structures that are crucial for keeping a person alive. For instance, the brainstem controls breathing and swallowing, among other things. Parts of the brain help with vision (occipital lobes) and movement coordination (cerebellum) are also located in the back of the brain.

Many different conditions may cause blood flow in the back part of the brain to be reduced or stopped. The most common cause is a stroke due to hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis).

Vertebrobasilar vascular disorders may also be caused by a tear (dissection) in an artery wall. Dissection can be caused by clogged arteries or injuries such as a car accident. However, most of the time, no apparent cause of dissection can be identified. Other less common causes of vertebrobasilar vascular disorders include connective tissue diseases and vasculitis.

Diagnosis and Treatment

Treatment for vertebrobasilar insufficiency includes the avoidance of trigger factors such as dehydration and certain positional changes. Additional treatment for vertebrobasilar insufficiency may include blood thinner medications.

Treatment is under strict thermographic with natural products with effect dissolution and regeneration of the column which talked about the beaks. The number of treatment sessions is established in the consultation, following very useful information provided by the thermograph. ...
