Amprenavir is an oral medication that is used for treating infections with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Amprenavir belongs to a class of drugs called protease inhibitors, which slow the spread of HIV infection in the body.
Take this medicine by mouth, with or without food, exactly how it was directed by your doctor. Amprenavir is not a cure and may not decrease the number of HIV-related illnesses. Also, Amprenavir does not prevent the spread of HIV to other people, therefore precaution measures are still needed. ...
Side Effect:
The most common side effect of Amprenavir is hypoglycemia. Call your doctor if you have any of this symptoms:extreme thirst; frequent urination; extreme hunger; weakness. Other less serious side effects, that need medical help if they persist or worsen are:upset stomach; vomiting; diarrhea or loose stools; stomach pain; change in taste; or tingling sensation around your mouth.
If any of these serious side effects occur, seek medical attention immediately:a severe allergic reaction such as hives, rash, swollen lips, mouth, fast breathing; dry mouth; upset stomach and vomiting; shortness of breath; breath that smells fruity or decreased consciousness.
