Desc:

Atacand/candesartan is indicated in the treatment of hypertension in adults and children. It may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents. Atacand is indicated in the treatment of heart failure in adults with left ventricular systolic dysfunction to reduce cardiovascular death and to reduce heart failure hospitalization.

Side Effect:

Serious side effects that also need medical care immediately are:feeling like you might pass out; chest pain; swelling in your hands or feet; or slow heart rate, weak pulse, tingly feeling.

Less serious side effects, witch need medical help if they persist or worsen include:runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough; back pain; joint pain; stomach pain, diarrhea; headache, dizziness; or tired feeling.

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include:rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing. ...

Precaution:

Before using this medicine inform your doctor if you are allergic to candesartan, to other drugs, or if you have any other allergies. Tell your doctor if you are using other medicine, such as a diuretic; lithium; or an NSAID, and if you have or ever have had any of the following conditions:kidney disease; liver disease; congestive heart failure; an electrolyte imbalance; or if you are dehydrated.

In rare cases, candesartan can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure.
