Azmacort preparation is well tolerated. Rarely, some side effects may occur transient and of low intensity, such as candidiasis of the oral mucosa, hoarseness, dry throat, wheezing, coughing. Exceptionally, there have been reports of facial edema.
Cardiovascular side effects have included fluid retention, sodium retention, congestive heart failure, potassium loss, hypokalemic alkalosis, and hypertension. ...
Precaution:
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of:eye disease (such as cataracts, glaucoma), liver disease, thyroid problems, diabetes, stomach/intestinal problems (such as diverticulitis, ulcer), bone loss (osteoporosis), current/past infections (such as tuberculosis, positive tuberculosis test, herpes, fungal), bleeding problems, mental/mood conditions (such as psychosis, anxiety, depression).
Azmacort will not be used to treat asthma. It will recommend great caution and should be avoided in patients presenting active or latent form of tuberculosis infection or other etiologies (bacterial, viral, fungal) or herpes of the eye region.
