Side Effect:

Usually AK-T-Caine PF/tetracaine ophthalmic drops are well tolerated and safe for most of the people and does not cause severe adverse reaction. Blurred vision, redness of the clear part of the eye, sensitivity to light, severe stinging in the eye, tearing or throbbing eye pain may rarely occur. If any of these persist or worsen, call your doctor.

Also rare, but serious are corneal erosions, slow eye (corneal) healing, trouble breathing, itching, dizziness, unusual anxiety, confusion, tremors followed by drowsiness. If you notice any of these stop using this medicine and seek medical help immediately.

An allergic reaction is rare, but get medical care if any of the following symptoms occur:rash, itching, difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, or hives. ...


Before using this medicine inform your doctor if you are allergic to tetracaine ophthalmic, to other drugs, or if you have any other allergies. Tell your doctor if you are using other medicine and if you have or ever have had any of the following conditions:heart or liver disease, high thyroid problems, or myasthenia gravis.

Do not touch or rub the eye and protect your eye from dust particles, sand, or anything that might cause irritation. Do not use additional eye drops in the eye until your doctor tells you to.
