Uncommon side effects that may occur include:allergic swelling of the face, lips or tongue and difficulty breathing.

Prior to taking aliskiren tell your healthcare provider if you have any type of allergies. If you have diabetes or kidney disease, you may not be able to take aliskiren or if you are also taking any heart or blood pressure medications.

To make sure you can safely take aliskiren, tell your doctor if you have any of these other conditions:kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis); heart disease; if you are on a low-salt diet; or if you have ever had an allergic reaction to an ACE inhibitor medication.
