Description

The nail plays a significant role in the fingertips hand. It provides support for the fingertip. Functions of nails in a similar manner in the foot. Nail injuries can be related to the presence of a hematoma below the nail resulting from the separation of the nail from its bed nature. This can lead to repair complex wounds.

Causes

Most of the nail lesions are derived from one of three mechanisms: the crushing forces, such as hammers, doors slamming on fingers, human bites, or machinery, slicing or cutting knives, box cutters, or machinery, tearing or ripping, such as stubbing a toe or catch a fingernail into an object.
